Emergency Hormonal Contraceptive (EHC) Service
If you have had unprotected sex or your usual method of contraception has failed, you may be worried that you or your partner will become pregnant. Our EHC Service is delivered by our trained Pharmacists who will ask you a series of questions, in confidence, allowing them to provide you with the most suitable option of EHC, more commonly known as the ‘morning after pill’.
There are several options available of morning after pills . They are most effective if you take them within the first five days after unprotected sex. However, the sooner you take the morning after pill, the higher the chance that you will not fall pregnant.
EHC is for emergency use only and should not be used on a regular basis. Your Pharmacist can discuss other contraceptive methods with you if you find you are having to take the morning after pill more frequently than you should. Please always follow the advice given by your Pharmacist or Doctor.
The morning after pill starts from £22.99, however, can vary depending on the most suitable option for you. In some locations, our Pharmacist may be able to provide you with the morning after pill for free as part of a local NHS scheme. Please ask a member of the pharmacy team for more details.
